Burgas, Bulgaria - 42.5048° N, 27.4626° E - 1454Z04MAR25

 Hello there one and all,

This is just a brief play with the blog; I'm still learning how to use it best. The two dodgy photo's above are random ones I took in Burgas, basically to play with attaching them to the post.

Well, as you can see from the title, I'm still in Burgas, Bulgaria. 

Burgas, pronounced "boor-gas", is located in the east of Bulgaria, on the Black Sea coast to the south, and for all intents and purposes, it's a seaside tourist town. By road it's about 340 km to Istanbul, and about 380 km from Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, and 12205 km (Google told me) to V's place.

I'll leave the history of my movements from Australia, the 25th of January, 2025, to my arrival in Sofia, 21st of February, 2025, for another day. So, after four of five days in Sofia I wandered east, remaining in Bulgaria, by bus to Plovdiv, and then onto Burgas. Late this coming Saturday night, (it's only late due to the bus company I am travelling with rescheduling the original 1215 to 2315) I'm heading to Istanbul. The trip will take anywhere between six to eight hours, depending on how long it takes at the border, so hopefully I'll be there by 0800 Sunday. After that, well who knows? So far, I've booked a week at a dubious hotel not far from the Hagia Sofia, beyond that, I may head further east into Turkey, as I would like to visit Gobekli Tepe, and revisit Cappadocia while I am out that way, but again, we'll seen what happens between now and then.
